What is a single buggy?
A single buggy, also known as a sleigh or a Sleigh-like carriage, is an all-wheeled, lightweight carriage that's typically pulled by one horse. It is often used by Amish people, and it is also known as a sleigh. Families typically opt for a single buggy since it allows them to move around without difficulty.
Since 1998, phil&teds has been at the forefront of technological advancement. Our stroller and Double Kit(tm), bundles, provide a variety of choices for all family situations.

Different types of single buggies
A light buggy is an ideal choice for parents who travel frequently, use public transport or plan on going on holiday with their child. They usually weigh less than 6kg and fold up compactly, so they can easily be carried into overhead compartments of flights. Buggies that weigh less than 6kg are great for city travel since they're usually simple to maneuver. They'll usually come with a raincover and sunshade as well - both worth the investment as they will help keep your baby comfortable at all times!
A jogger buggy is equipped with large BMX wheels and is specifically designed for use in the gym. It will have a strong suspension to take care of the bumps, bounces and other impacts of off-road usage. It can be difficult to control a jogger buggie since the front wheels may be able to rotate. Locking the wheel is crucial when crossing roads or mounting kerbs.
Some single buggies can be adjustable, allowing the seat to be positioned forwards or backwards (known as a parent-facing). This is ideal for infants who are fussy and prefer to be capable of seeing their parents. Other models are only front-facing and are better for older children who don't want to be distracted.
There are also tandem buggies, which are designed to carry two children of the same age side by side. This is useful for families with twins or babies born close to each other but they can be difficult to navigate, particularly in small spaces. Some tandem buggies come with an adjustable mechanism inside each seat, so your toddler can lay flat while you push them.
The ideal single-buggy will depend on the size of your family, your budget and your lifestyle. Look for a light buggy that has a seat that can be used from the time of birth. If you're looking to protect your budget, go with a single stroller that can be transformed into a double buggy at the time. Phil&teds invented the first inline buggy and now provide a wide selection of stroller and double kit bundles that can help you achieve this.
A single buggy purchase
A new buggy can be an expensive purchase. The majority of pushchairs that come with bassinets for newborns cost upwards of PS700, which can be a big ask for parents with limited incomes.
The majority of families purchase at least two buggies unless they live in a huge city with easy access to public transport, or have an enormous car boot. They also often spend their weekends in muddy parks. One sturdy buggy that is able to be used on rough terrain, transport large loads and expand with your family, and a second, lighter buggy for use on holidays or in tight spaces like public transport and crowded streets.
We recommend buying a single buggy that you like, and then selling it when your child is up and you need to upgrade to a double. So you don't end up with a gadget you don't really need.
Double buggy: Purchase one
You need to think about the many aspects of buying a double buggy, starting with the cost to the type of reclined positions available. You will also want to think about whether you will require a large shopping basket as well as what kind of suspension that the buggy comes with. It is also worth thinking about what features you would like the buggy to include such as sunshades, rain covers and snack tray.
There are a variety of double buggies on the market. The one that is right is dependent on the person who will be using it, your lifestyle, and your budget.
